the Writer

I am a graduate of Walter Cronkite’s School of Journalism at Arizona State University and award winning journalist. I have written for the West Wing (US Airways’ Flight Attendant magazine), the Arizona RepublicPhoenix Home and GardenPhoenix Magazine and zoniereport.com. I am a freelance journalist and currently write for Green Living Az Magazine, an eco-lifestyle magazine dedicated to the various shades of living green.

My current writing projects force me to evaluate my choices and the “green-ness” of them. I have evolved this blog to represent those moments and dedicate my future endeavors to sharing my eco-experineces, for good or bad, with you, my readers.

As a writer I enjoy juxtapositions, and as a journalist, I find the search for such incongruities important and valuable. Join me as I continue exploring the best ways to go green, even if at first blush they seem to disagree with current logic and popular methodology.

This isn’t an all “hard” news blog, simply because I love the fun things life has to offer, but even those things can have green elements. Being eco-friendly can be frivolous too, so here you will find a variety of posts, that in one way or another tie community and eco-consciousness together, whether its food, fashion, fun, entertainment or news.

As an avid athlete I love surfing, cooking, eating and traveling with my husband and son. The human condition and the social study of our species intrigues me and I continually look to find ways of managing the complexities of today’s modern world with old school values through travel, fitness and food.

I believe in open and honest conversation, even if our beliefs differ so please feel free to comment or share your thoughts. However, please be respectful and use good manners when doing so. Abuse, slander and rudeness will not be tolerated.

Cheers and Mahalo
